Audio inputs are handled by four TLV320ADC5140 analog-to-digital converters, each capable of sampling four channels simultaneously, feeding into a synchronized TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) audio bus. Outputs are driven by a 16-channel ADAU1966A digital-to-analog converter, providing high-fidelity audio playback to secondary sources such as speakers or actuators.
The design includes a programmable gain front end for each input channel, along with anti-aliasing filters to preserve signal quality before digitization. Careful attention was given to power distribution and analog/digital separation across the 2-layer PCB to minimize noise and maintain clock synchronization across all devices. This component set balances low-latency processing, high signal fidelity, and flexibility for future expansion.
